Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2, 2026
The short version
This website is education, not therapy. Reading it, emailing me, or using the free tools doesn't make you my client, and nothing here is a substitute for care from a clinician who actually knows you. Therapy itself is governed by separate written agreements you receive at intake. If you're in crisis, don't use a website: call or text 988, or call 911.
If you're in crisis
This website and my email are not monitored for emergencies. If you're thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you're in immediate danger, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
What these terms cover
These terms govern your use of ovhpsychology.com, the website. They are not the terms of psychological services. If you become a client, our clinical work is governed by separate written agreements (including practice policies, informed consent, and the Notice of Privacy Practices) that you receive during intake and can request at any time at info@ovhpsychology.com. By using this site, you agree to the terms on this page.
This website is not therapy
Everything on this site, including the blog, the Ask a Therapist series, the specialty pages, and the interactive tools, is educational. It is general information about psychology and therapy, not psychological advice about you.
Using this website does not create a therapist-client relationship. That relationship begins only when we have completed an intake and agreed in writing to work together. Please don't delay seeking care, or disregard advice from your own clinician, because of something you read here.
The free tools are educational
The ACT Values Assessment is a self-reflection exercise, not a validated psychometric instrument. The Out-of-Network Cost Calculator produces estimates, not guarantees; your insurer's own numbers always win. Neither tool diagnoses, treats, or replaces professional advice, clinical or financial.
Emailing me
I welcome email at info@ovhpsychology.com and typically respond within 1 to 2 business days. Email is for inquiries and scheduling, not for clinical emergencies (see the crisis note above), and sending one doesn't create a therapist-client relationship. Standard email isn't encrypted, so keep sensitive details brief until we have a secure channel.
Content and intellectual property
The content on this site (text, tools, and design) belongs to OVH Psychology. You're welcome to read it, link to it, and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Republishing it, scraping it wholesale, or presenting it as your own requires my written permission first.
I work to keep the content accurate and current with the research, but psychology moves and pages age. The site is provided as is, and I can't guarantee every page is complete or current at the moment you read it.
Third-party services and links
Booking and intake run through Sessions Health, a separate HIPAA-compliant platform with its own terms and privacy policy that apply when you use it. The site also links to external websites (directories, research articles, profiles), which I don't control and am not responsible for.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OVH Psychology is not liable for damages arising from your use of this website or your reliance on its content. This limitation applies to the website only; responsibilities within an actual clinical relationship are governed by the intake agreements and professional standards, not by this page.
Governing law, changes, and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. If they change, the update will be posted here with a new date at the top. Questions are welcome at info@ovhpsychology.com.
