Privacy Policy

This policy describes how ovhpsychology.com handles information about website visitors. It covers anyone who browses the site, whether or not they ever become a client.

It does not cover clinical care. If you become a client, your health information is protected under HIPAA and governed by my Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive during intake and can request at any time at info@ovhpsychology.com. Nothing about your care lives on this website.

Like most websites, this site uses analytics to understand how it's used. Specifically:

• Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure which pages are visited, for how long, and from what kind of device. I see aggregate reports (page views, approximate city-level location, browser type), never names or identities.
• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights (from the company that hosts this site) measure visit counts and page performance. Vercel's analytics are designed to work without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites.
• Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used: where people scroll, what they click, and where they get stuck. This one goes further than the others, so it's worth being specific about. Clarity reconstructs a playback of a visit, which means I can watch an anonymous session back, and it runs on every page including the interactive tools. What it doesn't capture is what you type. The project is set to strict masking, and every free-text field on the site (the workbook's values statements and goals, the calculator's dollar amounts) is additionally marked as masked in the page itself, so those contents are hidden in playbacks regardless of any setting. What I see is layout, clicks, and scrolling rather than words on the screen.

The site does not use advertising trackers, social media pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

The only way this website collects information you type is if you email me. I use your email address and message to respond, and for nothing else. I don't add you to any list, and I never sell or share contact information.

One practical caution: standard email is not encrypted. When you first reach out, it's wise to keep clinical details brief; there will be time and a secure channel for the full picture. Once you're a client, communication preferences are covered in the Electronic Communication Consent you receive at intake.

The ACT Values Assessment and the Out-of-Network Cost Calculator run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter in either tool is transmitted, stored, or seen by me or anyone else. Refreshing the page clears it.

Session recording does run on these pages, so I can see where people get stuck in them, but the fields you type into are masked. What you enter is not readable in a recording and never leaves your browser.

The site relies on a small number of third parties:

• Vercel hosts the site and provides the analytics described above.
• Google provides analytics and serves the site's icon font, which means your browser requests a file from Google's servers when the site loads.
• Microsoft provides Clarity, the usage analytics and session recording described above. Microsoft processes that data under its own privacy statement.
• Sessions Health handles scheduling and intake when you choose to book. It is a HIPAA-compliant practice management platform with its own privacy policy and terms, which apply from the moment you use its portal.

The site also links out to external profiles and resources (Psychology Today, Reddit, research publications, and others). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which I don't control.

Cookies come from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, both of which use them to tell one visit apart from another. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private mode, or install Google's own Analytics opt-out extension. The website works exactly the same without them.

If you've emailed me and want that correspondence deleted, ask and I'll do it, unless a legal or professional obligation requires me to keep it.

I don't sell, rent, or trade any visitor information. Analytics data is retained according to the standard retention settings of Google, Vercel, and Microsoft. Clarity's recordings expire on Microsoft's own schedule (30 days at the time of writing) and are not exported or kept anywhere else. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your inquiry, or as professional record-keeping obligations require if you become a client.

The only circumstances under which information would be disclosed are those required by law.

This website is not directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
