Privacy Policy

This policy describes how ovhpsychology.com handles information about website visitors. It covers anyone who browses the site, whether or not they ever become a client.

It does not cover clinical care. If you become a client, your health information is protected under HIPAA and governed by my Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive during intake and can request at any time at info@ovhpsychology.com. Clinical records are kept in the practice systems, not this website.

Like most websites, this site uses analytics to understand how it's used. Specifically:

• Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visits and measure page views, approximate location, device type, and interactions such as clicks on booking links. These reports help me understand how people find and use the site.
• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights (from the company that hosts this site) measure visit counts and page performance. Vercel's analytics are designed to work without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites.
• Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, including clicks, scrolling, and navigation. It can reconstruct a visit for playback and runs on pages with interactive tools too. The tools are explicitly marked for text masking in the page code, including their input and summary areas. This hides that text in recordings, but does not make the whole visit invisible: interaction patterns and visual layout can still be recorded. Clarity uses cookies and processes usage data under Microsoft's privacy statement.

I use these services to understand site use and performance. Their own privacy policies describe how they process data, including cookies and device information.

If you email me, I receive your address and the message you send and use them to respond. This site has no contact form or mailing-list signup. Booking information goes through Headway when you use the booking link.

One practical caution: standard email is not encrypted. When you first reach out, it's wise to keep clinical details brief; there will be time and a secure channel for the full picture. Once you're a client, communication preferences are covered in the Electronic Communication Consent you receive at intake.

The ACT Values Assessment and the Out-of-Network Cost Calculator calculate and display results in your browser. The quick assessment and calculator keep their working data in page memory, which clears when you leave or refresh.

The full values workbook saves progress using localStorage on your device. It can still be there when you return, including for someone else using the same browser profile. You can start fresh in the workbook or clear your browser data to remove it. These tools do not submit your answers to a practice database.

This site uses Microsoft Clarity to record clicks, scrolling, and how the tools are used. Text inside the tools is masked in recordings; clicks and visual layouts can still show how you interact. Please use Sessions Health for clinical information you want to send to the practice.

The site relies on a small number of third parties:

• Vercel hosts the site and provides the analytics described above.
• Google provides Google Analytics. The site's fonts are hosted with the site.
• Microsoft provides Clarity, the usage analytics and session recording described above. Microsoft processes that data under its own privacy statement.
• Headway handles booking when you follow the booking link. Its own privacy policy and terms apply when you use its site.
• Sessions Health is the practice portal for clinical information, payment, and documents. Its own privacy policy and terms apply when you use its portal.

The site also links out to external profiles and resources (Psychology Today, Reddit, research publications, and others). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which I don't control.

Cookies come from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, both of which use them to tell one visit apart from another. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, block analytics requests, or install Google's own Analytics opt-out extension. Private browsing alone does not stop analytics requests. The exercises and booking links work without analytics.

If you've emailed me and want that correspondence deleted, ask and I'll do it, unless a legal or professional obligation requires me to keep it.

I don't sell visitor information. Google, Vercel, and Microsoft receive usage data through the services described above. Their retention and processing policies apply to that data. Emails are kept as needed to handle an inquiry or meet professional record-keeping obligations.

This website is not directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
